Qiu Zheyong is mainly engaged in the research of theory and application of partial differential equations as well as mathematical modeling, and has undertaken or directed over 10 research projects of the Provincial Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Provincial Education Administration of Zhejiang, the Municipal Administration of Science and Technology of Hangzhou and projects commissioned by enterprises. He has published nearly 50 papers in academic journals in China and abroad and has edited 3 textbooks. He has won 4 third prizes for outstanding scientific papers and 3 second prizes for teaching achievements in Zhejiang Province. In December 2001 and December 2011, he was awarded as National Excellent Instructor of Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM). In October 2012, he was awarded the first “Excellent University Teacher Prize” of Zhejiang Province. In 2015, he was awarded the first “Outstanding Teaching Teacher Prize” of Hangzhou Dianzi University.
