报告题目：Fair Division of Resources – A Brief Introduction

报告摘要：Resource sharing serves as a major topic in economics. One of the most important issues is to divide a given resource in a fair way among all rational participants. To this end quite a few fairness concepts, such as proportionality, envy-freeness, and maximum share guarantee, have been proposed. This talk starts from fair allocation of divisible items, known as cake cutting, by showing several fundamental results concerning about fairness. We then turn to the more difficult version with indivisible items, where the fairness is carefully relaxed in different ways. Finally, we will introduce a new model, in which the value of a set of items is determined by the induced graph structure.

报告人简介：Guochuan Zhang is a professor at the college of computer science, Zhejiang University. He got his PhD at Institute of Applied Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995, and was awarded an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship in 2001. His research topics cover approximation algorithms and online algorithms for combinatorial optimization, as well as algorithmic game theory. Currently he serves on boards of the Journal of Sche****ng, the Journal of Operations Research Society of China, the International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, and Annals of Operations Research.
