This major also cultivates advanced specialized talents with a good mathematical accomplishment who gain a good grasp of the fundamental theories of information science and computation science, and are able to engage in works of research, teaching, application development and management decision in the fields of technology, education, economic management, IT industry and finance.

The students in this major mainly study the fundamental theories, knowledge and methods of information and computational science. With a strong and solid foundation of mathematics and practice of computer, the undergraduates can do research work in the field of information science, operation research and control, and mathematical statistics.
